20 January 2022 – Your Weakness, His Strength

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” – Ephesians 6:10

Many times we think that fasting will make us stronger immediately during the fast. But that’s rarely the case. Fasting is a time where I deny myself of the things that give strength to my flesh so that I can begin to rely on His strength. We do get stronger as a result of the fast, but it will first cause our weaknesses to surface. Just like when you are lifting weights. In the moment you experience pain and come to the end of your limits. You don’t get stronger as you lift – there’s a recovery period, but you do get stronger because you lift. Let’s finish strong in the power of His might as we lift His up His holy name.

Prayer: Jesus, I love You. Thank You for always being strong enough to love me beyond my weaknesses. Help me to rely upon You and Your strength. I need You and ask that You would be with me and help me to be with You. Amen.
