8 January 2022 – Living Sacrifice

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. – Romans 12:1

Serving God is not for the faint of heart. In fact, anything worthwhile will cost you something. Jesus paid it all so that we could know Him and have a relationship with Him. Our lives have been ransomed from death and hell by the very blood of Christ. We are not our own and we should live to please Him instead of ourselves.

My flesh and selfish desires scream for gratification but only to the detriment of oneness with my Maker. He paid for us; it is then only reasonable that we live lives that please Him. Every temptation rejected, every hunger pain, every prayer, and every tear – they are all worship that only just begin to scratch the surface of what He is worth.

Prayer: Jesus thank You for dying for me. Help me to live for You. You are worth so much more than I can offer, but I will give You all I am. Teach me to fear You that I may love You and live a life that is pleasing to You. Amen.
