Bumper Crop

Day 12 of 21: January 22, 2023

Scripture
Galatians 6:7-8 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit, will reap eternal life.

Observation
If you plant an apple seed, you don’t get oranges, begonias, or firetrucks – you get apples. If you plant seeds of selfishness, pride, lust, greed, or gossip, you will eventually get more sin, flesh, and death.

On the other hand, if you plant seeds of spiritual discipline and righteousness, you will get more of God and His kingdom in your life.

What we plant, we will see again in our lives. What we sow in our lives, we will reap for eternity.

Application
Everything we see, hear, say, and do plants a seed in our hearts and will produce things in our lives. Our goal is to be intentional about sowing the right seeds by developing the disciplines of prayer, Bible study, worship, etc.; we yield a crop of righteousness, peace, and purpose. We must learn to identify and declare war on the wrong kind of seeds and continue to seek the Lord to help us keep the weeds out of our fields.

Prayer
Lord, I love You. Thank You for today. Help me to choose You to cultivate spiritual disciplines and plant the right seeds in my life. In Jesus name, amen.
