Scripture:
Psalm 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Observation:
When God gave Moses instructions for the Tabernacle (the tent where they met with God in the wilderness), He gave very specific instructions on the placement of things and the process of how they were to worship Him. We, today, are also to worship God in spirit and in truth. Not according to the Law, but grace. The setup of the Tabernacle, and later the Temple, is important in understanding how we are to worship God (see diagram below). David said that we should start with praise. Jesus tells us the same in The Lord’s Prayer, “Our Father in Heaven. Your name is holy!” He is showing us that we are to enter His courts with praise! Praise and thanksgiving unto God shift our focus from off of us and onto Him. Remember, God does not respond to your circumstances, He responds to your faith. Faith that pleases Him is full of paise!
Application:
Today, set time aside to simply thank God and exalt Him with your own words. As we do, we establish a throne for Him in our lives (Psalm 22:3). As we exalt the King, He begins ruling and reigning and blessing our homes, jobs, relationships, finances, etc.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for who You are and all that You do. You are Holy. You are full of glory. Your love goes way beyond anything that I could ever imagine. I thank You, King Jesus, for showing me how to live, for dying for me and my family so we can be free, and for giving us new life. You are the God of all wisdom and there is nothing too hard for You. I bless Your name and thank You for the privilege of being a part of Your family. Amen!
