Day 3 of 21: Ready to Go!

Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We were saved for a purpose. While God does seek our healing and restoration, He also seeks to equip us and send us to accomplish the Great Commission. We are not all called to remote villages in the Amazon, but we are all called to be missionaries to our spheres of influence. We are to go to our families, jobs, schools, and communities with the love, truth and power of Jesus Christ.

This is why spiritual disciplines are so important. We are not to be disciplined simply for our relationship with Jesus, though He is worthy of, as Oswald Chambers say, “our utmost for His highest.” We are to live a life of discipline so that we can be ready to serve and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those around us.

We can go with boldness because He has given us authority and assures us that He will be with us in every situation we follow Him into.

Lord, I love You and thank You for today. You are holy, help me to be holy and set apart for Your service. Teach me Your word and Your ways. Help me to be a conduit for Your grace in my sphere of influence. I thank You that You are with me. Help me to follow where You lead. In Jesus name, amen.
