Day 4 of 21 – Strategic Humility

Scripture:

James 4:6-7 “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Observation:

Pride is the enemy’s playbook. It is when you tell yourself, others, and God that you want to do things your own way and don’t need or want help from anyone else. God does not help those that don’t want it – but He does help those that are willing, teachable, hungry, and dependent upon Him.

Application:

Spiritual warfare is an important aspect of the victorious Christian life, but before you can draw the sword on the enemy, you must first submit yourself to God. Humility unlocks grace (God’s supernatural power). As you submit to Him, He will give you the power to resist the enemy and temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to humans; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for today. I love You. Help me to humble myself and submit to You so that I can overcome those things that pull me away from You. I need Your help. I am asking for Your grace to get up and to stand in the face of temptation and opposition. Amen.
