Zechariah 4:6 Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.
God has a unique plan and purpose for each and every one of us. Some say that if we don’t do our job, God will just raise someone else up to do it. That may be, but many times when we say no to God, the job doesn’t get done and either way we will have to give an account one day of how we accomplished the mission of our lives.
The good news is that we are not left to our own devices to try and figure it all out on our own. God has given us His Holy Spirit to give us wisdom of what to do, and the power to do it.
Part of fasting is about recognizing the fact that I can’t do it on my own (John 15:4). As we come to the limits of our ability, we then are ready to start on our supernatural mission (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we live a life submitted to the Lord Almighty, we then have access to His grace and power that goes above and beyond anything we could hope for (Ephesians 3:20).
God expects results from our lives that goes way beyond our ability. He is not setting us up. He expects us to go to Him, and to trust Him when He gives us assignments that go beyond our comfort level or frame of reference.
1. Ask God what His will is for your life today.
2. When He does, ask Him for the wisdom and power to do it.
3. Actually trust Him enough to do it. This is what faith looks like.
4. After it’s done get with God for a debrief to get His feedback.
When you start implementing this process, you will find that God will start with small things and challenge you just outside of your comfort zone. You will find your faith and obedience growing incrementally as a result.
Lord, I love You. I thank You for today. You are holy and powerful. I trust in Your wisdom and power and not in my own. Show me what You want me to do today and help me to trust You enough to do it. I bring down every stronghold of pride, fear, and rebellion in my life. I ask that You make me ready to be used by You. Thank You for the amazing privilege to cooperate with You in the family business of expanding Your Kingdom. Amen.
