Revival. It is a word that means many different things to different people. It implies something was once alive, but then it died and had to be brought back to life. This is where our generation finds itself. We are coding in the ER of eternity, and desperately need the Holy Spirit to perform CPR – to start our heart and breathe into our lungs.
Every revival is born out of prayer, fasting, and repentance. God has moved so many times in so many powerful ways. Whether we are talking about the revivals in Scripture or even in recent times such as the Toronto Blessing or the Azusa Street Revival. While there is much to learn from and appreciate about these moves of God in times past, we need a revival. Here. Now. This generation.
The Lord has provided all we need to know in His word. It is now up to us. The question is not “Is revival possible?” Not only is it possible, but it is also God’s heart and desire to breathe on His children and to bring refreshing and spiritual awakening. The question is “Are we willing to pay the price in prayer and repentance in order to see a move of God in our midst?” God feeds the hungry. Are we hungry for more of Him? Or do we have an appetite for the world and for our sin? I don’t know about you, but I am sick of the status quo. I am desperate for Jesus. I am desperate for the water of the word and Spirit, for the Bread of Life, I am desperate for revival. “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
For the next week, join us as we seek the Lord on our faces and cry out for a revival.
Isaiah 62:6-7 I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
Prayer:
Lord, we love You. You are holy. You are King of all. Thank You for loving us. God, forgive us of our sin. Have mercy on us. Take out our hearts of stone and give us hearts of flesh that we may love and fear You forever. Revive us once again O God. Restore our souls that we may be sons and daughters – fathers and mothers. We ask forgiveness for our pride, rebellion, and stubbornness. Wash us thoroughly. Change our appetites so that we reject the junk food of the world and crave the Bread of Life. Help us to humble ourselves that You may be exalted in our midst. Make us desperate for You. Come, Lord. Fill us afresh. Pour Your anointing on us and set us a blaze that we may be a light for You in the darkness of this generation. Amen.
Below you will find a small sampling of scriptures about revival. Read them. Pray, and let the Lord awaken your heart for revival. Let’s pray, repent, and align ourselves with Him so that we may see God move in our generation.
