Glory Clouds (Day 11 – January 29, 2026), P. Trevor Kring

Scripture:

Psalm 63:1-3 O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. So, I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

Observation:
We live in the Sonoran Desert. It’s hot. It’s dry. It’s a desert. It is, however, the most life abundant desert in the world – it is even referred to as the living desert. Why? Because of the annual natural phenomena known as monsoon season. It is dry for nine months out of the year and then all of the sudden we are soaked with an overabundance of rain that causes flooding and hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage every year. This happens, not because the air is dry, but because the ground is dry. When the rain comes, the ground is hard and not ready to receive the rain – so it doesn’t. The water, then stays on the surface, collecting in huge amounts, and flows downhill.

I don’t want my soul to be a dessert, satisfied only with momentary floods of God’s presence. I want the water of His word every morning. I don’t just want to eat a few days out of the year, I want the Bread of Life every day. The difference between a desert and a garden? The consistency of rain.

Application:
We were made for God’s presence. Get into His word and thank Him everyday. Start your day with praise and enter into His presence that you may see His power and glory in your life on a regular basis.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank You for today. I ask that You would be with me and help me to be with You today. Water my soul that my life would be fruitful ground. I love You and I thank You for Your loving kindness. Amen
