Scripture:
Psalm 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing Life forevermore.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
John 17:20–22 I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.
Observation:
We all love when the word of the Lord is spoken over our lives. We wait in prayer lines quietly saying, Lord, I need to hear from You. But Scripture shows us something valuable a prophetic moment isn’t only about the anointing on the person speaking. It’s also about the alignment of the people receiving it. Last time the prophet came, the anointing was real and the call was clear. But the flow was hindered.
It wasn’t a lack of gifting. It wasn’t a lack of hunger. It wasn’t a lack of calling. It was a lack of unity. Psalm 133 tells us that unity is where God commands blessing and releases oil. Oil flows downward it doesn’t flow into resistance. Amos reminds us that we can’t walk together unless we’re agreed. Unity isn’t just getting along emotionally. It’s spiritual alignment. Jesus prayed for unity not as a suggestion, but as a requirement for glory. He tied our unity to heaven’s response. So when the prophet couldn’t flow last time, it wasn’t because he wasn’t anointed. It was because the spiritual environment wasn’t aligned. But praise be to God, He has given us mercy.
We’re on a 21-day fast that ends three days before the prophet comes again. That’s not coincidence. That’s grace. God is giving us time to get our hearts and our house in order. This fast isn’t just about skipping meals.
It’s about removing what disrupts alignment. We’re not fasting just for personal breakthrough. We’re fasting for corporate alignment.
The real question isn’t whether the prophet is anointed. The question is whether we are aligned.
Application:
Unity doesn’t just happen. We must choose it and protect it. This fast is a window God has given us. It’s a time to deal with, offense, strife, hidden division, unforgiveness, pride, resistance, gossip, etc. The blessing is already commanded. The oil is already poured. The prophet is already sent. The only variable left is us.
Three days after this fast ends, the prophet comes. God is giving us time to get it right. Not just outwardly, Inwardly, together.
So let’s ask ourselves:
Will I forgive?
Will I humble myself?
Will I align my heart?
Will I silence division?
Will I choose unity?
Because where there’s unity, God commands the blessing. Where there’s agreement, God releases the oil. Where there’s alignment, God releases glory.
Prayer:
Father, search our hearts. Show us anything in us that disrupts unity. We repent of offense, pride, division, and resistance. We surrender our opinions, our preferences, and our pride. Make us one, just as You and the Son are one. Align our hearts with Your heart. Align our spirits with Your Spirit. Let this fast prepare the way for Your glory. Let this house be a place where You command the blessing. Prepare us for what You’re about to do.
In Jesus name! Amen.
