Life in God’s garden was free of curses, death, or separation. Until… Our sin resulted in the Fall, and the curse of death, separation, and loss.

Blessing: The reality of what God says is good in our lives.
Love, joy, peace, Light, relationships, protection, provision, wisdom, revelation, etc.

Curse: The removal of what God says is good, and exposure to evil, darkness, and the demonic

The enemy desires to separate you from God, from your purpose, from other people, and ultimately desires that your death and the destruction of your legacy.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

When we sin, we open ourselves up to the demonic.

1 Samuel 15:22-23 So Samuel said: “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.”

This is how Saul lost his blessing and lived under a curse, this is how Adam did it, this is how we have done it as well.

God is very serious about us not playing around with death, darkness, sin, or the demonic.

Leviticus 20:27 A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you.

Familiar Spirits: demonic spirits assigned to a person or family that has abundant knowledge of the individual, ex – spirit guides.

Hebrews 9:27 each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment

We are to resist the enemy, not cooperate with him, even if his plan is veiled in seemingly kid-friendly fun.

Ephesians 5:11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind

As followers of Christ, we must not engage in any form of darkness or have anything to do with the celebration of death or the demonic.

1 John 4:4 He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Proverbs 26:2 Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

Adam subjected humanity to the curse of sin and death on a tree, Jesus became the curse on a tree and broke the power of sin.

John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

You can be free tonight.
Confess your sin.
