Revelation’s Reward

Day 19 of 21: January 29, 2024

Scripture
Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint but happy are those who keep the law.

Observation
This verse is not just talking about words on a page or information. When the Holy Spirit takes God’s word and lights it up inside of you, it transforms your heart, mind, and actions. Without revelation, you cannot have a clear vision of your purpose. Saying yes to one thing means saying no to everything else that competes with it. Without revelation, you will not know what to say no to because you won’t know to what you are to say yes. When we wait on the Lord, and He reveals His will to us, it brings confidence, security, and grace.

Application
This is where prayer, fasting, seeking, and waiting come in. We must be getting into God’s word regularly. We must also acknowledge God in all our ways as well as ask and allow Him to direct our paths. Revelation is more than understanding; it is having the what, the why, and the how of God’s perspective and then acting upon God’s grace to do it. It is less about what you are doing and more about who you are becoming. When we walk by revelation instead of emotion or finite reasoning, we will find blessing and the peace of God – even in the storm.

Prayer
Lord, I love You. Thank You for today. You are my strength and my righteousness. My Rock and Redeemer. I ask forgiveness for my sin and impatience when I have moved ahead on my own desires without seeking You. I do not want to lean on my own understanding. I ask that You refresh the vision for my life and give me a revelation of You and of my purpose in this season. In Jesus’ name, amen.
