Revival! (Week 3 of 8)

Psalm 85:6 Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Observation / Application:

The past two weeks we looked at repentance and rejoicing. These along with prayer are the ingredients for revival.

Revival is not simply an emotional experience that makes you feel better. It is the entrance for the Holy Spirit as He brings the Kingdom of Heaven to the earth… to us.

The question is do we really want the love, truth, and power of God in our lives? Are we willing to endure the discipline, the pruning, the coal of the Lord on our lips and heart?

Purity is painful, but it is the conduit through which God dispenses His outpouring to wake us up so His life and light can shine through us to a dark, lost, sick, and dying world.

God, we need You! I ask forgiveness for being content without You and seeking my own way. I thank You that You are good, that You’ve never left me, and when all is said and done You will still be on Your throne. Lord I ask that you would make a throne in me. Ryle an reign in my life, family, and work. Help me to love You, need You, and desire You more every day. Revive me and strengthen me so that I may live a life that is pleasing to You. Bring revival in my life, that You may bring revival through me by the power of Your Spirit. Come Lord Jesus! Amen.
