Waiting While You Work: Day 9 of 21

Scripture:
Isaiah 40:31 Those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Observation:
I don’t know about you, but I need new strength. God gives us strength, not because we need it, but because we trust Him. We acknowledge His ability to protect, provide, and enable. We also trust in His goodness and willingness to give it. We have a path to walk and a race to run. We need divine endurance.

Application:
To trust or wait upon the Lord means that I do what He has already told me, trusting in His plan and timing and waiting for further instructions. Waiting on the Lord is not a passive doing nothing until God parts the clouds and tells you the 5-year plan and drops a bag of money in your lap. It is an active listening and obeying what He has already said. When we do, then we will find strength to keep obeying, walking, and running after Him, and His call on our lives.

Prayer:
Jesus, I thank You for today. Help me to trust You more with the way I live my life. I need You and I ask You would walk with me as I serve, love, obey, forgive, worship, and wait until You give further instructions. God, I don’t just want to not get tired, I want to fly with You. Amen!
